Lapis Luna’s distinctive sound is reminiscent
of the 1940s jazz era.
The repertoire has been carefully selected and is full of timeless
favorites & delightful obscure tunes. Influences vary from
memorable vocalists
of the golden age of song – Crosby, Armstrong & Holiday,
to popular music
stars Sinatra, Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole & Chet
Baker.
The heart of their music draws from the celebrated songbooks of
Ellington, the Gershwins, Porter, Hammerstein, Bonfa, Haymes,
Kern, Fields & Goodman.
The Lapis Luna Orchestra adds a dynamic 5 piece horn section
with arrangements by Chris Byars.
