The Melodyville Swingtet has a splendid style bridging elegance with knock-out swinging fun. Our dynamic instrumental jazz combos feature infinite combinations from duo to big band. The band exemplifies the cherished music of the Great American Songbook: Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, and favorites made famous by Sinatra, Ella, Nat, Jobim, Parker, and notables of the era.
Perfect for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, with a variety of jazz styles including straight-ahead jazz, bebop, standards, bossa nova, blues, swing, and big band. Our musicians are with the upper echelon of NYC jazz bands playing countless weddings, cocktail parties, galas, lounges, concerts, and festivals, together per year.
The Norville Trio
Led by one of the most revered vibraphonists, Tom Beckham, the Norville Trio restores the infinitely swinging arrangements of Red Norvo’s celebrated vibes, guitar, and bass trio. This unique trio mixes swanky 1950s cocktail party cheer with swing era tunes. Playing standards from the 1940s through the 1960s, they are the ensemble that is always a delight!
Recognized as bringing the xylophone, formerly a vaudeville instrument, into jazz, Red Norvo was a sideman with the great big bands. He also led his own swing band and had one of the supreme jazz trios of all time. It’s no wonder he was called Mr. Swing!
Sometimes a party needs a cheerful and subtle approach to building the perfect atmosphere. Our solo pianist plays jazz and bossa nova spanning the 1940s-1960s with selections including Porter, Gershwin, Jobim, Ellington, Monk, Tatum, Evans, and Peterson.
Perfect for cocktail parties, corporate events, brunches and dinner hour.
We also offer solo stride piano music from the 1920s, please inquire.
